Seagate and Western Digital announced last week that the flooding in Thailand is going to affect the availability of hard drives. This shortage will be a significant impact world-wide since Thailand produces about 25% of the world’s hard drives. This shortage will not only affect availability but also the prices of any available hard drives and Windows PCs. The expected shortage could last until March of 2012.
